When I was seven years old, I loved playing with playdough, making little pots and mixing the dough to make different colors. My best friend and I decided we were artists!! We made art boxes containing art supplies that we carried everywhere!! When I went to college I enjoyed hand building with clay and also loved to weave. Upon graduating I held various jobs in the automotive industry in the Design Office that allowed me to work with color. After getting married, I learned to throw on the wheel and left the corporate world behind to begin a career as a potter - a dream come true!!
I work in my home studio in the country Village of Otisville most days of the week with my 2 cats, Buddy and Pumpkin. Norman, my designer husband, has joined me working in the studio part time providing good dialogue about design and function. Being surrounded by nature provides the beauty and solace needed to produce my pottery.
Being a potter has given me so many wonderful experiences and opportunities that I could never have imagined. I am grateful for the ability to make pots for people as well as hear the enjoyment people receive from using them. I look forward to creating pottery for you!
